The following information was compiled by Vynny Ward, ZKad Productions, over the course of a considerable period of time. Vynny has moved on from the Spark and wanted to free up space on his server, so I have reproduced it here with his kind permission. I will continue to keep it up-to-date as best possible, since I am still using the Spark and thus somewhat in touch with the developments thereof.


SPARK DRIVER UNINSTALL PROCEDURE FOR WINDOWS 95/98
1. DPS recommends that you complete any unfinished projects before doing the clean install and installing new software. NOTE: SOME OF THE FILES LISTED BELOW MAY NOT BE ON YOUR PARTICULAR SYSTEM.

2. Delete the following from the dps\spark\program directory:

dpsspark.dll
dvrp.exe
dvrpres.dll

3. Delete the following files from \win95\system:

dvc.dll
dvavi.dll
dvcodec.dll
fcpavc.dll
isochcmp.dll 
wn1394.vxd
wnpapi32.dll

4. Delete the following file from \win95\inf:

wn1394.inf

5. Delete the following files from \win95:

dvrp.ini

6. Delete the Win95 WN1394 Registry entry by performing the following:

Run REGEDIT (From the Windows 95 desktop select File then Run and type REGEDIT.exe)

Select the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE edit window.

Delete HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Services/WN1394 folder.

Delete HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/DPS/DPS Spark folder.

7. Delete the 1394 Bus Controller/Adaptec AHA-8940 PCI to 1394 Host Controller from the Control Panel/System Properties/Device Manager.

8. Restart the computer and make sure there are no device or driver start failures - if there is a failure, double-check the previous steps and try again.

9. Go to Control Panel/Add new Hardware to install your INF and VXD files.

10. Install the latest release of the Spark software for Windows 95 - it is available from our Internet Web Site: www.dps.com, our internet FTP site: ftp.dps.com., and our BBS: (905) 944-4001

11. Restart the computer when the Spark installer asks you to.

12. After the system reboots launch Spark to start the software.

dvrp.ini

6. Delete the NT WN1394 Registry entry by performing the following:

Run REGEDT32 (From Windows NT desktop select File then Run and type REGEDT32.exe)

Select the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE edit window.

Delete HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Services/WN1394 folder.

Delete HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/DPS/DPS SPARK folder.

7. Restart the computer and make sure there are no device or driver start failures - if there is a failure, double-check the previous steps and try again.

8. Install the latest release of the Spark software for Windows NT - it is available from our Internet Web Site: www.dps.com, our internet FTP site: ftp.dps.com., and our BBS: (905) 944-4001
